3 Terrific Travel Products

We all have our favourite things to travel with.  Three of my current favourites are a powdered Caesar mix, bar shampoo and a clothesline.  Yea, that’s an odd mix but they’re terrific and I love them.

Orginal Wild West Caesar Pleaser

When I was first told about this mix, I was more than a little sceptical.  How could a powdered mix make a really tasty Caesar?  Well, eventually I tried out the mix and now it’s become a standard item to take along on trips.  It’s every bit as good as any liquid clamato juice that I’ve had.  Add a package of the mix to a litre of water and you have the start of some great Caesars.  Just add vodka, Worcestershire sauce, Tobasco and rimmer.

Where to buy:  I buy mine at my local Canadian Tire store.  If your local store doesn’t carry it, you can go online and order from Canadian Tire or directly from Wild West Seasonings.

Lush Bar Shampoo

The idea of a bar shampoo that would be easy to travel with intrigued me when I first heard about it.  I made a special trip to one of the Lush stores so I could get some.  A helpful salesperson helped me select Seanik for volume and shine.  They have an assortment of about 10 or so flavours.  They advertise that each bar is good for 80 shampoos and, although I’ve never counted, that number seems about right to me.  They also have a nice little tin that is the perfect size for your bar of shampoo.  This is a moderately priced quality product that I will continue to buy for travel and home.

And, because it’s solid, it’s ideal for packing in your carry-on luggage.

Where to buy:  Lush has a great online store or use their store locator to find a store near you.

Lee Valley Hook-Anywhere Clothesline

I used to have a stretchy clothesline that I travelled with; but, over the years, it lost its stretch.  When I saw this one on the Lee Valley website, I knew it would be a perfect replacement.  It’s 16 feet long and is designed so that you just use the supplied s-hooks to make it the length you need.  Lee Valley doesn’t advertise that you can use it without clothespins but that’s what I did to dry my bathing suit on the balcony of our bedroom in Puerto Escondido recently.

Where to buy:  Lee Valley also has a great online store or you can use their store locator to find a store near you.
