This is truly a unique place to visit. Set on 300 acres of land near Burk’s Falls, Ontario, is the Midlothian Castle and the Screaming Heads. Created by Peter Camani, an artist, sculptor and retired art teacher, it is an interesting place to take a stroll.
There isn’t much online about this place, and there are no brochures or other advertising materials available (or at least that I found). I heard about it from a friend who visited.
We weren’t able to view inside the castle, but the turret is very visible from the public area. We also didn’t see the peacocks on the grounds but heard about them from others who have visited.
Turret Castle Gate
Dog friendly. Donations are accepted but not required. The address is 925-1201 Midlothian Rd, Burk’s Falls.
Apparently, if viewed from the air, the sculptures take the shape of a dragon.
This is a spot where you can spend as little or as much time as you wish. We spent about an hour but only saw a portion of the sculptures. If you’re in the area, I suggest you stop by for a visit.
Safe travels!
